What happens basically is this:

systemd[1]: Starting Wait for Plymouth Boot Screen to Quit...
This message appears on the console and the timer counter starts. The
counter never stops, it keeps incrementing apparently forever (it had
gone beyond "1w" the last time I checked). This job never finishes, and
the login consoles never come up (either graphical or ALT-F? text
TTY's). All the other daemons on the system start and run just fine, and
I can log into the system via ssh and everything other than the consoles
appears to be working fine.
Have you modified the grub lines at all? Try removing "quiet" and
"rhgb" from the kernel command line and you will get more info about
what's happening. You don't have to edit the grub config files, just
edit the line from the boot menu.
