For mine I have to use:

intel_panel_fitter -p A -x 1246 -y 686

IIRC, I had to install a package to get the intel_panel_fitter program - not sure if it useful if you don't have Intel graphics.

(I'll have to see if I can rename the HDMI port - my HDTV already has a PC port for the VGA connector....)

despite all this info, i am unable to switch to 1020x1080 with out the over scanning.

i am very suspicious about,...

should not  2016x1134+0+0 be 1920x1080?
