Not to mention never shopping online, giving email to vendors, joining loyalty 
programs, etc.   There are downsides, such as being told you can't have 
electricity or phone service because you don't have a credit history.  I'm
not that extreme, but I do try to minimize my profile.  

I once had the bank take money from my account to pay credit bills for 
some other person using my name.  I tried to check my credit history and 
was told I didn't exist, and ended up dealing with the security people at the 
credit bureau.  If you have a  very low profile, it is easy for bad guys to steal 
your identity.   

Your internet footprint is now part of your identity and messing with it with 
could have unintended consequences.
