I have been trying to locate a fully 64bit skype client to no avail;

Any info on that?
MS is not supporting linux x86_64 and who can blame them?
They do not like Linux. They might even wish it would disappear.
If you do install Skype (which I did using the Local Package Factory,
"lpf skype"), you'll need to be sure that 32 bit versions of some of the
audio libraries are installed. The Skype rpm doesn't load them
automatically during installation, nor does Skype complain about their
absence; the audio just doesn't work. I needed these:
pulseaudio-libs-5.0-7.fc20.i686
alsa-plugins-pulseaudio-1.0.27-2.fc20.i686
alsa-lib-1.0.27.2-2.fc20.i686

Hi Jon,
I actually did run yum localinstall
/...../x86_64/skype-4.2.0.11-3.fc20.x86_64.rpm
and yum downloaded and installed all the i686 libs, so I did not have to
do any guess
work as to what packages skype needed.
I was only interested in avoiding having to download 32 bit libs.
But..... alas, it is not to be.
