Hello, I have been using Lenovo thinkpad Edge E530 for last two weeks with fedora 17 installed on it. $ uname -a Linux maxico-lappy 3.5.1-1.fc17.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Aug 9 17:50:43 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux $ Everything is working with out any problem. But it's multi card 4-in-1 reader (MMC, SD, SDHC, SDXC) is not getting detected in Fedora 17. lspci|grep -i mmc and dmesg|grep -i sdhc give nothing. There could be below two reasons for it 1. Hardware problem 2. Fedora 17 kernel does not have latest driver for this latest lenovo thinkpad edge e530 card reader I tried in other lenovo thinkpad Edge E420 with Fedora 17 and it also detects my NIKON D3100 SDHC card properly. [root@localhost ~]# dmesg|grep -i sdhc [ 3.618403] sdhci: Secure Digital Host Controller Interface driver [ 3.618406] sdhci: Copyright(c) Pierre Ossman [ 3.618682] sdhci-pci 0000:03:00.0: SDHCI controller found [1180:e823] (rev 4) [ 3.621406] mmc0: SDHCI controller on PCI [0000:03:00.0] using DMA [ 94.990395] mmc0: new SDHC card at address e624 [root@localhost ~]# [root@localhost ~]# lsmod |grep -i mmc mmc_block 27077 2 mmc_core 102497 2 sdhci,mmc_block If anybody have faced this problem with Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E530 laptop SD card reader with linux, please let me know the solution of this problem.
