I did it & found that the packages to be deleted were the older versions which had not been deleted after update since the transaction had been stopped in the middle itself.

So maybe it is the previous version packages that are slated to be deleted & nothing more.


I confirm identical behavior of yum when I rebooted before yum had finished,
as it was on a different workspace, and I had forgotten all about it.
