If everything actually works the 'complete things' will just run a
cleanup and remove that ""hinky[1] "transaction" out of my history"".
And it will just change/update databases. Which need to repaired. And if
you don't do that? Will it work'? Maybe. How long? Who knows?

Your choice. Fix it now or live with the later disaster. It's smarter
than you or you would know how to fix it yourself. Means? Trust the
developers who wrote the software.

Run the tranaction.
