I followed the jpackage advice briefly, and did not find it satisfactory. I've gone over to Sun Java; maybe when Fedora move over to Sun's open Java I'll transfer to that. I still find the Fedora documentation slightly misleading. It would be more honest, IMHO, to say something like, "If you want to use Java, you will probably find Sun's Java RPMs the simplest and most satisfactory solution. However, we don't use this because we don't like Sun's old licence; so we have set up an alternative system which you will get if you opt for Java Development in Fedora." I'm allergic to discussions about licences, and happy to use anything that works. I suspect that is the philosophy of the vast majority of Fedora users. -- Timothy Murphy e-mail (<80k only): tim /at/ birdsnest.maths.tcd.ie tel: +353-86-2336090, +353-1-2842366 s-mail: School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin 2, Ireland -- fedora-list mailing list fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list
