OpenSource and Free Software are not the same thing.  Ask RMS if you
don't believe me.  But that is a complete side issue.  Just as your
assertions of "most users are universities and educational
institutions..." are.

Anyway, what does a "non-free Fedora Extras" repository buy you over
just using on of the other third party repositories that already cover
this?  I see no difference at all, other than a blessing from the Fedora
project which I (personally) don't think it would deserve.

Seriously, what benefit would it have?
