At the moment non-free firmware is distributed with a SPDX ID of LicenseRef-proprietary with a description on the web UI of "Proprietary, distributed by agreement"[1] -- it would be nice to codify this with a common SPDX ID -- and I think this kind of firmware would be classed the same as processor microcode from a 40,000ft view.
