Hi John, I can't say about the metadata on the legacy repos, but I can recommend that you use a local mirror (either local to your build machine or local on your LAN) for building with mock or mach. Going remotely for all the needed packages is quite slow and will also be using a large amount of bandwidth for both you and the repo you are downloading from.
