It has nothing to do with the quality of the OS. It is completely dependent
on the number of people willing to help support that OS version. Lots of
people are actively supporting RH 9 developement/testing. Very few are
supporting RH 8 development/testing. Therefore RH 9 stays, and RH 8 gets
dropped. Simple.
