I'm not sure why you don't think yum is stable on RH8 though? Am I
missing something?

I dunno, really. I browsed the whole FLP website, but there wasn't much on using yum with rh8 (except for the pages on using it with rh7.x, which doesn't have much in common with rh8...).

Looked in the whole downloads directory (in the 8.0 tree), even in updates-testing and in legacy-utils: there wasn't much not even the src :)

So I assumed that rh8 was meant to use apt... whenever and whether it's ready :)

If I assumed wrong, I apologize. But Bugzilla doesn't seem to me promising too: I found 3 bugs about yum in it, none of them resolved and it is not clear what version of RH they're referring too....

Maybe I'm being over-cautious...
