MIPS would need to go through secondary arch status, just like all the rest of the architectures. We're not in a position to suddenly start worrying about kernels for an entire new architecture before anyone actually shows up to do work on that architecture. The job posting is encouraging, but it isn't a promise or actual work being done yet.
