Really though, tranditional embedded usecases build per-board kernels so

I noticed on a job description posted on devel that there seems to be an effort on the way pushing MIPS to become a primary arch in Fedora [1].

"The task is to take MIPS through to being a primary architecture in the Fedora/RHEL space, enabling further enterprise scale deployment of the MIPS architecture."

Afaik MIPS arch is mostly used on embedded systems so either a new line of servers are emerging or the intent is to use tablet/mobile devices to act as new form factor for "next generation of server technologies." so at least that architecture should be taken into consideration when making this split so we can limit any disruption/fallout that might come out of this as best we can to a single cycle.
