I've done both those things, and neither of them worked. I even reset the kb layout to default and added the UK and UK Intl. layouts again, but it made no difference. This is my current configuration: $ cat .config/kxkbrc [$Version] update_info=kxkb_variants.upd:split-variants,kxkb.upd:remove-empty-lists,kxkb.upd:add-back-resetoptions [Layout] DisplayNames=,gbi LayoutDefaultGlobal=1 LayoutList=gb,gb LayoutLoopCount=-1 ShowFlag=false ShowLabel=true ShowLayoutIndicator=true ShowSingle=false SwitchMode=Global Use=true VariantList=,intl This is Plasma 6 on F40 by the way.
Up-to-date Plasma 6 on Wfedora 40 with Wayland as well, my [working] .config/kxkbr is:
