Are you running things as root?

Anyway, from what you are describing it seems unlikely it's a konsole thing.

Does it happen if you use other terminal applications like xterm, kitty or 
alacritty?

It looks like your root's default shell is `sh`. What's the output of:
grep root /etc/passwd
