Apologies for my previous post asking about Wayland. Now that you
mention it, I do see some inconsistency in how certain windows are
allocated, but it's not entirely random. For example, I have a constant
qbittorrent session open on desktop 4, and on restarting it always
comes up on desktop 1 and has to be moved. This despite repeatedly
saving the configuration. However I've become so resigned to this that
I don't even remember if it used to work properly.
