I use Yakuake under KDE/X11 with no issues. The Ctrl-Alt-<whatever>
behaviour may be related to which desktop manager you have. I've
noticed it seems to vary between SDDM and GDM but haven't looked into
it any further.

I am using sddm, gdm isn't installed.
Note that I am starting yakuake with kdesu. That might explain yakuake not starting with a shortcut, though I don't know why it would. It worked fine prior to Fedora 34.
