you could also check for the following:
- Is it always a particular account that takes the audio or is the first logged in after a fresh reboot?
- Is any of the accounts in some special group? Like audio for instance?
- When you create a completely new user, how does it behave?

Okay, installed pavcontrol and in the one account I get both the
Built-in Audio Analog Surround 5.1
and
GM206 High Definition Audio Controller Digital Stereo (HDMI)
In the second account I only get.

I am also getting an error if I try to get a screen shot in the second
account.
In the third account I only get a dummy output right after switching in
and logging in for the first time.
I will have to do some more testing but it seems that the first account
to use audio takes control of the 5.1 output but will confirm.
Will look at pipewire.
