That helps. akonadi seems to not immediately segfault now. That is an improvement. Now looking in /home/sgrubb/.local/share/akonadi/akonadi_control.error I have the following: Unable to register service as "org.freedesktop.Akonadi.Control.lock" Maybe it's already running? "AgentManager::agentInstanceSynchronizeCollection" Agent instance "akonadi_imap_resource_0" has no resource interface! Kontact has been running for 10 minutes and it still doesn't show any emails. It says I have 158 unread emails, but going into a web interface to our mail shows I have 280 unread emails. (That web interface is how I am reading and replying to your email.) I quit kontact and restart it. It takes over a minute for the screen to show up (which is also unusual). Now it says I have 280 unread emails. Still not displaying a list of emails after 10 minutes. This sounds a bit like locking problems. I have tried to help debug the kontact code with upstream. However, it usually gets pointed out that I'm bringing them reports on old components that has been superseded with newer libraries. Which makes me not want to report things upstream because it sounds like we are not in a configuration they test with. Do we use the newest or same generation KDE components for all pieces of kontact? I'm trying to figure out why kontact is just so buggy. It used to be a great program.
