No help. Activities still broken, display still starts at clone 1680x1050 instead of full-resolution side by side with resolution change not surviving logout-login. More-ever, plasma and konsole configuration changes do not survive login-logout as well. In short, KF5.20 + Qt 5.6 is completely broken - at least on my setup.
