How about the equivalent of the Gnome Tweaks? I use a weather app that give me what I need to see. I get an update with one click.
There are other apps that would move the favourites to the top/bottom panel. One click less to activate an application, when you look at a days work on the computer, is worth the enhancements (personal tweaks)
Different users would activate/install different tweaks.
