Another extension that you may be interested in is keyconfig - though you'll have to google for that, as for me at least it wasn't offered directly from TBird. Keyconfig allows you to add key-bindings, so now I can have ctrl-up-arrow to see all headers and ctrl-down-arrow to return to normal headers.
