Advertising "short links" in Ask Fedora

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

We have a couple of "short links" in Ask Fedora:

build#(\d+) -> http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=\1
bug#(\d+) -> https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=\1
rhbz#(\d+) -> https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=\1
wiki:(.+) -> http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/\1
packagedb:(.+) -> http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/\1

I was wondering if we could advertise them some how to make it easier
for users/community members to add links to Fedora pages? I've added
them to the sidebar in staging for the time being. It doesn't look too
good though. Suggestions?

Ideally, all of this would be much simpler to add to a sidebar in the
question view, but there doesn't seem to be option to modify it at the
moment. Upstream hasn't commented on it either[2].

I'd also like to add another "short link":

question#(\d+) -> https://ask.stg.fedoraproject.org/question/\1

that would make it easier to point to duplicates etc. (At present, we
post the entire link). So, we could write "duplicate of question#XXX"
instead of "duplicate of https://ask.fedoraproject.org/questions/YYY/";

"Short links" are modified using the settings on the MARKUP page[3]

What do you folks think?
