Re: Request to add Kabyle language

Hello Fedora,
As a I contributed to the Fedora translation with our team membre Taflelli, I confirm that our language « Kabyle » or « Taqbaylit » is written using regular latin chars.

As mentioned on CLDR 45 : https://www.unicode.org/cldr/charts/45/summary/kab.html

However, when it comes to keyboard layouts, we generally select both keyboard layouts during the installation process : one Kabyle and the other one in Tifinagh script, especially in education or media.

When the Tifinagh or Berber layout is installed, it needs a font supporting the Tifinagh block : the keyboard layout viewer in GNOME displays Tofu instead of Tifinagh script on the keys.

This is why I suggested to Jibec to add noto-tifinagh into kabyle langpacks to avoid future bug reporting.

A thread on Mastodon : https://mstdn.fr/@ButterflyOfFire/113301294292303152

If you need more info, please ask and I will be happy to answer.

Regards,
