Here's a good example of one of the major issues with using forum software for this community. https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/missing-response-to-black-lives-matter-movement/24755 Had this been on a mailing list thread, jwf would have most likely tried to de-escalate, as a catalyst, rather than clamping down with hard moderation action, which makes everyone involved feel unwelcome. This ideology is ingrained in the use of forum software. Forum software will never be a replacement for a mailing list. -- John M.
