So just a stupid question I guess

If there is a community member who doesn't use discourse and you want to loop them into a discussion, say via CC, as we do all the time with mailing lists.... is there a way to do that?
This is a missing essential feature.

I ask bc I dont intend to move to discourse, and if the messages dont get broadcast here I guess I'm out. If someone wanted to CC me in on smtg tho (which happens) what is the mechanism for that or am I essentially between a "monitor yet another thing" and "get left out of stuff you probably need to be involved with occasionally" ?

I just can't monitor yet another thing.
Many people suffering from this, especially for long term engagements where communication is not very frequent, this is an issue.

non-user-associated way to send such a message. I considered setting up a
dedicated account just for this purpose, but Smooge has talked me out of it.

    We've got several other options:

    1. Just close the list with one final message.

    2. Close the list and add an auto-response directing to the new location.

    3. Close the list and post a message montly reminding people to migrate if
        they're still interested in following.

    4. Develop something that uses the Discourse API to provide an automatic
        summary.
This seems like a better solution, especially if other Fedora discussions will also take place on Discourse. Some relevant existing plugins:

    5. Other ideas?
Might also consider Loomio (https://github.com/loomio/loomio) as an alternative to Discourse - it is setup to manage meetings and enhance decision making. It has a useful email notification feature:
https://help.loomio.org/en/user_manual/users/email_settings/
It may be helpful to be able to comment by email on a topic to reduce the barrier to engagement.

My personal thought is option 2, but I'd like to hear what you all think.

(I know I just said we should actually move where we're discussing things
starting now, but this particular topic seems of most interest to current
    mailing list subscribers?)
