Hi,
My apologies in advance if this is the wrong place.
I cannot think of any better :-)
I am the developper for Recoll, a full-text search application, which has
been packaged for Fedora for a long time.
I have a small but steady rivulet of users asking for CentOS or Enterprise
Linux Recoll packages. In consequence, there are some CentOS 7 packages on
the Recoll web site. It would be easier for the users and and for me if the
Fedora package was maintained for EPEL instead.
Any possibility that this could happen ?
I see there already exists a bug for this:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1422666
however it is assigned to the EL6 branch maintainer whom I expect to be
buried in other stuff (we have RHEL 7.4 around the corner ...) while the
Fedora maintainer, who looks quite reponsive, wasn't copied ...
generally, some people maintaining packages in Fedora might be hesitant to
take care of EPEL as they don't run RHEL/CentOS ... it might help if you
(your community) would commit to testing/help with patching, which I
suppose wouldn't be a problem if you already maintain own packages
also, you might become EPEL packager yourself :-)
K.
