    The coolkey API is PKCS #11
    (https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=pkcs11
    should have pointers to the latest spec).

    
    If you use PKCS #11, then, as neil said, you can also use other pkcs
    #11 providers as well.
