I can update the Gentoo package if I have the patches; I'll go see
what I can find, and if they use good commit messages then it
shouldn't be too hard.  Although a pointer to the relevant revision
numbers would be helpful...

That said, I guess I would expect an actual release Real Soon Now,
since the new CAC seems to break it completely.  And I pretty much
depend on it working in either Gentoo or Ubuntu (preferably both).
