Do you see it as an improvement acceptable for F19?
(It could use some wording/layout polishing.)
I like the idea, though I would definitely change the wording, perhaps
to something like this:
+1 I really like this too, and had been meaning to suggest something
like it.

Just one more reason to do it is this:

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=700846

GNOME's hostname setting code is dumb enough that you can't actually set
a hostname with periods in it (i.e., one that sets a domain). They get
converted to dashes.
Actually, now I look at it, I'm not sure always showing the 'mandatory'
pre-hub network spoke is the best option, though I don't really hate it.
When I thought about this bug I was thinking more along the lines of
just having the Network spoke available on the live installer, with only
the 'hostname' element and a text note to use the desktop tools to
configure the network settings...so similar, but not using the pre-hub
spoke. Either way seems like an improvement, though.

Regarding network configuration your approach sounds
better to me too. There is one problem though - NETWORK CONFIGURATION
is displayed under SOFTWARE category:

Also I'll need to work a bit on status update for wifi connections
(the info below the NETWORK CONFIGURATION)
in hub which does not work quite right now but it shouldn't be a big problem
(crazy idea: show hostname in status in LiveDVD)

As for hostname setting we need to weigh up

1) one additional mandatory screen
vs.
2) hostname setting less prominent with higher risk of omitting

I am for 2) (ie your proposal).
