Inserting updates.img in ISO

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

The README <http://people.redhat.com/~msf/severn-test2-updates.readme>
mentioned on the Fedora/Anaconda home page
<http://fedora.redhat.com/projects/anaconda-installer/>
states:
"For other install methods if the severn-test2-updates.img file is renamed to
'updates.img' and put in the RedHat/base directory of the install tree it
will be used automatically w/o the need to use a floppy disk."

I have tried copying severn-test2-updates.img file
to the RedHat/base/ directory (as updates.img),
as instructed above,
but it does not appear to be seen.

Do I need to take any other action,
such as adding it to a file list on the ISO?

Hasanyone actually followed the above instruction, with success?

I looked briefly at the Anaconda source in loader2/hdloader.c
but could not see where updates.img was accessed in RedHat/base .
However, I did not fully understand the working of Anaconda --
I could not work out the sequence of actions on booting.

Any advice or suggestions gratefully received.
