Do the comps.xml file also tell anaconda which CD the RPM package is loaded on? Can I take out/delete packages from the @core and @base section of the comps.xml if I don't really install them from during kickstart (Although, those packages do have a MANDATORY status)? My ks.cfg contains lines that say delete some of the RPM packages that are technically part of the base and core group. However, it does not seem to break any dependency. For example, anacron is part of the base and consider mandatory, but I choice not to install its. Can I delete its from the comps.xml? dwc Here is a what my package section in my ks.cfg looks like %packages -anacron -apmd -ash -at -bc -cyrus-sasl-plain -dhclient -dos2unix -dump -fbset -finger file -gmp -gpm -hotplug -irda-utils -isdn4k-utils -jfsutils -kernel-pcmcia-cs -krbafs -ksymoops -lftp -lha -libwvstreams -lilo -lokkit -lrzsz -MAKEDEV -minicom -mtools -mtr -mt-st -nfs-utils nss_ldap -pam_krb5 -pam_smb -parted -pax -ppp -pyOpenSSL -python -python-optik -pyxf86config -raidtools -rdate -rdist -redhat-config-mouse -redhat-config-network-tui -reiserfs-utils -rhnlib -rhpl -rmt -rpm-python -rp-pppoe -rsync -setserial -specspo -star -statserial -stunnel -talk -tcsh #-time -unix2dos -up2date -usbutils -whois -wireless-tools -wvdial -ypbind -yp-tools -----Original Message----- From: Mr. Adam ALLEN [mailto:adam@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, August 04, 2003 7:58 AM To: Saurav Gohain Cc: anaconda-devel-list@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Coms.xml file Modification On Mon, 2003-08-04 at 12:08, Saurav Gohain wrote: > First thanks to u all for the help that i receive these days. I worked out the comps.xml from Jeremy's documentation at http://rhlinux.redhat.com/anaconda/comps.html. -- Regards, Adam Allen. adam@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx pgp http://search.keyserver.net:11371/pks/lookup?op=vindex&search=adam%40dyn amicinteraction.co.uk
