Re: [Regression?] no more audio with Intel HDMI integrated sound card

Paul,

You were right! Sorry for the delay, but I had to compile a couple kernels by hand to validate your hypothesis.

Some times ago, I used to compile my kernels by hand and then I tried to use the pre-built kernels from Xanmod. And whatever Xanmod version I used, I had no HDMI audio.

But, with a kernel compiled by myself, and with the compilation config file that I have always used (which is originally a copy of one from a Debian build), both kernels I have tried have worked, namely 5.10.119 (the latest long-term kernel from the before-last long-term branch) & 5.18.1 (the latest stable kernel).

With Xanmod kernels, I have tried both 5.10.119 & 5.18.1 and none of them provided me with HDMI audio, at least with my integrated Intel soundcard. So it is not a regression in the kernel, the culprit seems to be Xanmod. I'll try & notify them.

Thanks a lot!

Regards,

Zala
