The way I do it is to start with a line that works and change one thing at a time.  Do a quick test and if it still works go on to the next change otherwise undo.  6 devices means 0-5.

Whatever format I use I get an error saying as `unable to hw params` I tried plughw which also didn’t worked. I’m not sure where and how to debug this issue.

I have a mono mic for recording and it took Mono. I also tried with 8bit but I get same error.
