I'm using a different Envy24 card with another kernel and there is no
output by dmesg.

You could install the kernel-rt or kernel-rt-lts from the below
mentioned repository. Or try the non-rt lts from core,
https://www.archlinux.org/packages/core/x86_64/linux-lts/ .

I can't build vbox 4.3.12 modules for 3.17.x kernels. Aynway, for audio
an rt kernel is the better choice. Do you need the latest kernel?
