Obviously no sound, else I would be bothering you gurus.

Supermicro X10SAE running opensuse 13.1 64bit

I can't run amixer scontents. I get
amixer: Mixer attach default error: No such file or directory

The Yast2 hardware analysis has some information:
------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

However the datasheet for the motherboard indicates sound is provided
by a Realtek ALC1150. Here are the relevant lines from the datasheet:
-------------------------------
One (1) High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI)/DP
on the back panel,
One (1) High Definition Audio 7.1 channel connector sup-
ported by Realtek ALC1150 on the back panel
------------------------------------------------

Maybe the Intel display driver has it's own sound for the HDMI port? In
any event I set the jumper to use the back panel sound.

I went to the Realtek website and loaded the linux driver. The file is
Rt-Linux-HDaudio-5.18. Using this fix
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19672884/error-when-building-wifi-drivers-on-ubuntu-13-10
I got the code to work in the usual ./configure make make install
manner.

In the yast2 soundcard set up, it doesn't find any Realtek drivers.

Suggestions?
