Oops I top posted. Hopefully this makes more sense.

Card is Xonar D1. Source used for testing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8ODm-F9-IM

Tests (repeated for R):
(a) - Left visual on video = L speaker
(b) - Muted ALSA L channel Master Front = muted L speaker
(c) - Muted ALSA L channel Aux = muted L speaker

Inputs and tests:
Local source (a, b) = OK
Line In (a, b) = OK
Aux (a, b) = OK, (c) is switched

Local source and Line In both work perfectly.

Aux works OK iff Aux L and R channels are equal. But adjusting one channel on Aux affects the other one instead. Tested with both arecord and the Analog Input Monitor.
