Hi, I wonder how can one enumerate only the available recording devices using the ALSA API. the only option I found so far is to get a list of device names uding snd_device_name_hint(), go through them one by one, try to open each for capture, and see if that goes through. the only problem with this is that some devices, like the dmix or dsnoop device, will dump error messages in the process to stderr - which really looks ugly. is there a nicer way to determine which recording devices are available? all pointers are welcome..
