Hi all, I apologize if this is the wrong way of contacting the ALSA project. but I am not really clear how to approach this after consulting the wiki. After adding a HD-Graphics-card and a HDTV set to my VDR-Mediacenter I tried to switch from DVB-Out (SD analog incl. audio) to HDMI incl. Audio via xinelibout. So far video works fine, but there is no audio. I started with several of the distributions (yaVDR based on Ubuntu 10.4, easyVDR based on Ubuntu 8.04 and varios other ways, incl. building a system scratch via Gentoo) but always run into the same issue. Either the sound-portion of the ASUS Bravo 220 (which carries an NVIDIA GT 220) is not detected at all, or - after playing with the modprobe.d parameters there are 4 or 1 device - but no audio. Unfortunately I have no other HDMI TV Set or receiver to exclude that the Sony is the source of error, but I can say that with my XBox360 I get perfect sound via HDMI, so basically the TV set is not broken, nor are the cables. I have run alsa-info.sh and the output is here: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=ccaba18e12c044e4cb7d675147592de788261cdd What jumps right into my eyes is this in dmesg after the TV set has been detected, but I have no clue what it could mean ... (note there is another ALC662 onboard device, which does work via analog Front-Output when I run speaker-test) Now, if I run speaker-test for hdmi:CARD=NVidia or on one of the 4 hdmi-devices (-Dplughw:0,x) , I either get nothing or this: root@video:~# speaker-test -Dhdmi:CARD=NVidia speaker-test 1.0.23 Wiedergabe-Gerät ist hdmi:CARD=NVidia Stream-Parameter sind 48000 Hz, S16_LE, 1 Kanäle Verwende 16 Oktaven rosa Rauschen Fehler beim Öffnen des Gerätes: -16, Device or resource busy Fehler beim Öffnen des Gerätes: -16, Device or resource busy Fehler beim Öffnen des Gerätes: -16, Device or resource busy Fehler beim Öffnen des Gerätes: -16, Device or resource busy Fehler beim Öffnen des Gerätes: -16, Device or resource busy ^C So, I am really happy for any kind of hint what to do now. A pinpoint to the right the documentation pages would be great, also I am capable of basic C knowledge, so I am also happy to compile and test things... Any response is appreciated. Kind regards, Alex D. |
