Dear Folks, I have two iMac 27" machines. I have installed Fedora 11 (with all updates). I have not been able to persuade sound to work, and many others appear to share the same problem. I am looking for any ideas that I could follow. $ lspci -nn | grep Audio 00:08.0 Audio device [0403]: nVidia Corporation MCP79 High Definition Audio [10de:0ac0] (rev b1) 02:00.1 Audio device [0403]: ATI Technologies Inc R700 Audio Device [Radeon HD 4000 Series] [1002:aa38] pavucontrol shows sound bars on whatever output I choose; just no sound comes out of the speakers or the headphone jack. The output of alsa-info is at http://nicku.org/imac-sound-problem/alsa-info-pamsbox-201004241812 If I can provide any further information, I will be happy to do so. At the moment, I would be happy to get sound working even if that involves buying additional hardware. iMacs are rather closed kinds of systems. -- Nick Urbanik http://nicku.org nicku@xxxxxxxxx GPG: 7FFA CDC7 5A77 0558 DC7A 790A 16DF EC5B BB9D 2C24 ID: BB9D2C24 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list Alsa-user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
