HP DV7-1160eg and mute LED, v1.0.22.1 and later

Hallo,

since v1.0.22.1 release the bass speaker of my HP DV7-1160eg is well supported. Thanks for this great job.

This HP notebook comes with a sensor keypad for controlling sound (loudness and mute) and something more. Included in the sensor pad is a mute LED, like a lot of other current HP Pavilion dv* Entertainment Notebooks too.

With patch provided in May 2009 by James Gardiner <renidragsemaj at yahoo.com> this LED is well controlled, if model hp-dv4-1222nr is configured.

But, use of this model config tag conflicts to bass speaker use. Now if model=hp-dv4-1222nr the mute LED is ON (orange light) if sound is ON if the LED is OFF (white light) if sound is OFF. But the Mute LED should be ON (orange) if sound is OFF. By using model=hp-dv4-1222nr the bass speaker is still silent. Is instead model=hp-dv5 configured, the bass speaker works well, but the mute LED is alway OFF (white light).

I've no experiences programming c because I'm not a programmer, but the pach for the model model=hp-dv4-1222nr does not show very complicated (see: http://mailman.alsa-project.org/pipermail/alsa-devel/2009-April/016125.html). Maybe someone could help me finding a solution for hp dv7-1160eg and similiar models for both, bass speaker and LED control.

Or should I better post to the developer list?

Ciao

TF
