Ah! In the middle it hangs. 2 things do that.

1. Lack of throughput speed. A certain amount is cached, and then it runs out & things go wrong.  OR
2. Something else wakes up (e.g. nic replies  to an arp query or something) and it hangs.

So, pull the nic, and try again. Also, try using ps/2 KB & mouse if you have them. Then you can remove the usb modules and pull them out of the picture.  Did it always hang in the middle, or have we made progress with 'noapic'?
Also, if you could clear irq10 I'd be a lot happier. Get the video off it anyhow, if you can. Use irq 12 for that.

I have also try to set boot kernel parameters:

- acpi=off noapci

but also don't help.

In the middle of playing some clip with xine, the system hangs again.

Any other Ideas ?

I will have to give it up :-((
