HDA Intel/SigmaTel STAC9200: Missing Mix device

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I'm running the HDA Intel driver on SigmaTel STAC9200 and I seem to missing the "Mix" device.  Thus I cannot capture my output sound stream.

I read here http://www.mail-archive.com/alsa-user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/msg22950.html that the hardware does not support the "Mix" device for DRM reasons.  Can anybody confirm that this is true?

My end goal is to determine the simplest, highest-quality method to capture my internal sound stream.  http://www.swview.org/node/213 provides a method to capture ALSA output without a "Mix" device.  I have also heard Jack mentioned as a possibility.  Can anybody shed light on the best way to do this?

Thanks,
Ryan
