Yesssssssssss!
Thank you very much!

Long answer:

Yes I do use PulseAudio
And yes I managed to write a decent asound.conf

For some reason the file you gave me did not work like that: it was throwing warnings about finding unexpected characters and being possibly corrupted (was it written for an older version of ALSA?) so looking in Internet I changed it a bit randomly:

pcm.!default {type hw card 1}ctl.!default {type hw card 1}

Just writing type hw card 1 instead of hw:1... And now I'm listening to a song in a YouTube video ^^

The funny thing is now I have another problem, but kinda minor: I can't run Flash into Firefox and Amarok at once - the second program I load will not work. I saw there are scripts for blending various channels in one so I can listen to them, but I don't know which parameters have I to change for mine. If is it possible, could someone write me a standard configuration file or tell me a manual I can check or something, so I can write it on my own?

Even if you can't, thank you very much for helping me at this point, this mail list was practically my last hope (well... that indeed sounds dramatic, but...)
