OK, I found my mistake. For some reasons, audacious (a media player)was told to use specifically "hw0,0" instead of "default", thus lockingthe device. Setting it to default and everything is back in order.
Still, I have no idea what that PCM control is (virtual control forcompatibility purposes?).
