Hello All -

Well, after weeks of effort, I have nothing to show - I would appreciate 
greatly any help that can be offered to me here.

I'm running Fedora 10 on a 64 bit dual core Athlon - I've included all 
specific information from alsa diagnostics below.

I'm having 2 main problems:
1. While it appears that the tascam firmware gets downloaded into the 
US122, the green light never signals 'active', nor does the system 
recognize the device (except using lsusb and cat /proc/asound/cards).
Additionally, attempting to rerun usx2yloader (with no options) yields 
the ever-popular "usx2yloader: no US-X2Y-compatible cards found" 
message. If I attempt to use usx2yloader -c1, I get this: "usx2yloader: 
error in loading /usr/share/alsa/firmware/usx2yloader/us122.rbt".

I have checked many threads and hints, but cannot make this device be 
recognized. It works fine under XP however. More curious, and without 
any invention on my part, I magically had the light appear once (2 days 
ago) under F10 - system recognized it. I got excited, and without 
changing anything rebooted - light never came back on............... 
sigh...........

Would anyone be able to shed some much needed light on this perplexing 
situation????

2. The second problem is regarding my onboard soundcard (
0 [NVidia         ]: HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia
                     HDA NVidia at 0xfe024000 irq 22

This thing works great - I have sound on every program I tried, and 
recording is fine via microphone. However, using audacity (or any other 
recorder), I have been unable to record 'speaker output' - ie, I would 
like to be able to record what I'm hearing on the speakers at the moment.

Absolutely unable to figure it out - maybe this soundcard does not 
permit it?????

I'm sure there's alot of much needed diagnostic information I am not 
including here. If anything is needed I would be glad to supply whatever 
is requested.

I would be extremely grateful if anyone can give me a steer here, and 
get me out of this quandry.
