NVidia MCP78 HDMI --- no sound with 1.0.18

Hi,

I'm getting no sound output with a card that is listed as supported in
1.0.18 changelog. OS here is Debian Testing. I had some buggy sound
output with out-of-the-box installation (Alsa 1.0.16 I think), but
then installed 1.0.18 from Experimental and compiled/installed all
drivers. Now I get no sound at all, not even buggy (checked mixer
settings --- relevant channels are not muted)...

    # alsactl --version
    alsactl version 1.0.18
    # alsactl init
    Unknown hardware: "HDA-Intel" "Generic 10de NVIDIA MCP78 HDMI" "HDA:1106e721,10438345,00100100 HDA:10de0002,10de0101,00100000" "0x1043" "0x8345"
Hardware is initialized using a guess method

That output I frankly don't understand. Isn't the card listed as
supported in 1.0.17 -> 1.0.18 changelog?

Also, the relevant driver (as I understand) is installed:

    # modinfo snd-hda-intel
    filename: /lib/modules/2.6.26-1-686/updates/alsa/pci/hda/snd-hda-intel.ko
    description: Intel HDA driver
    license: GPL
    ...

Any ideas?

Paul
