Hey Eric, here is the solution I use with the Audigy 2 ZS sound card: In ~/.asoundrc or asound.conf write only this line pcm.!default spdif restart Alsa Now all the "default sounds" will go to the spdif output. hope this will fix your problem Floris Eric T.
